I’m married to my highschool sweetheart, Leah — we’ve been together for 11+ years 🙂

Leah and I have been to 23 different countries together. We’ve fought gallantly in a city-wide squirtgun festival in Thailand (Songkran), bathed in the geothermal Blue Lagoon spa in Iceland, feared for our lives driving a moped in Indonesian traffic, floated in the Dead Sea in Israel, danced with demons at an Ogoh-Ogoh parade in Bali, and got engaged to the backdrop of the world-famous Duomo di Firenze in Florence, Italy… to name a few!

I’ve ran a marathon, completed the Spartan Trifecta + a Spartan Ultra (50K, 60 obstacle race), and done a 100 mile bike.

Outside of my wedding & birth of my daughter… some of my other favorite moments were getting to spend a day on Sir Richard Branson’s private island, and watching my first ever live event (The Curiosity Quest) come to life!

• I’m a girl dad! Kaiya was born in November 2023
• In elementary school, I used to write mini stories about each of my classmates, highlighting their strengths. I called it “Sideways Stories From Hillside School” because I loved this book by Louis Sachar.
• Growing up, I did Tae Kwon Do with my whole family, and got my black belt in the 4th grade.
• I have a younger brother named Brett. Growing up our nicknames were B1 and B2 because of Bananas & Pajamas (We also loved Dragon Tales + playing Pokèmon together)
• I type on a DVORAK keyboard instead of a QWERTY keyboard, because I’m a productivity super nerd.
• Related to the last one, my keyboard shortcuts have keyboard shortcuts, and I’m also a Zapier / automation freak. (Favorite mac tools: Alfred, BTT, Hazel, Stream Deck)
• Last productivity one… I listen to content ranging from 2-5x speed (Brandon, how do you go 5x+? This. You’re welcome 😜)
• My first business venture was a “rock stand” at age 5

• I used to help out my parents’ business by making cold calls starting as soon as my voice dropped circa age 12.
• My favorite sport is Spikeball, and I play every week in the summer!
• I can solve a Rubik’s cube in ~60 seconds.
• I haven’t had social media on my phone since 2016.
• I’ve never been drunk in my life… not only am I allergic to alcohol (it’s an Asian thing), but I’ve never really had the desire to drink.
• I’m weirdly good at rock skipping… with a still lake and a good rock, I can get 15+ skips relatively consistently.
• In high school, I wrestled. My favorite class was art (specifically making sculptures). I was friends with everyone but never felt like I fit in, and my superlative was “most likely to rule the world.”

While it’s easiest to examine all of them separately and attempt at giving some order to them, the reality is that they all exist simultaneously, and they are all ONE thing.

CLEAR Energy: Curiosity, Love, Enthusiasm, and Resonance

“I love your energy” — the #1 comment I get right out of the gate, often less than 1 minute after meeting someone. This energy has several layers of “flavor”. The 5 flavors are listed separately to describe them, but in reality they all exist simultaneously as one energy which is what people feel. This is experienced in any context where I’m with people.

• Curiosity: I’m deeply curious about how the person in front of me (1) thinks and (2) exists in the world. 
• Love: View everyone through the filter of love and kindness. Actively look for the beauty in them through my questions and presence.
• Enthusiasm: Bring high-octane presence — my vibration is high and fast which is felt through the speed of my speech and thoughts.
• Appreciation: Act as a mirror, reflecting back the most authentic and powerful aspects of the people I connect with through expressions of gratitude and appreciation.

Metacognitive Synthesis & CLEAR Transmission

I don’t just solve problems — I architect higher frameworks that not only solve my current problem, but can also be used to solve similar problems.

• Precision in Inquiry & Synthesis: I intuitively search for specificity, and translating ambiguity into specificity. Where something is unclear, I’m able to ask precise questions that empower a deeper understanding of a subject to make it functional and have greater utility.
• Reductionistic & Synthetic Thinking: Ability to break down complexity (reductionist thinking) and rebuild it in creative ways (synthetic thinking) allows me to generate solutions based on foundational truths yet feel entirely new.
  • Reductionistic: Everything I learn, I break down into a mental model, process, etc. for me to use later, which eventually can be used to create something from.
  • Synthetic: Leveraging the various broken down understandings, I’m able to creatively see hidden structures, patterns, and leverage points to build something entirely new.
  • 4% Thinking: The largest “reductionistic and synthetic thinking” cohesive framework that empowers me to develop solutions based on (1) evolving core identity and values (.8%) (2) raising conscious awareness of the potent actions and qualities (4%) and then designing an environment that empowers it all to thrive (20%).

• Strategic Optimization: Instinctively look for ways to maximize efficiency and minimize wasted effort, constantly refining and improving processes.
• CLEAR Transmission: By tuning into the energy of those around me, I’m able to convey my solutions, thinking, and frameworks in a way that is exciting and resonant. My communications seamlessly blend storytelling with previously built mental models and frameworks to both emotionally and logically land with people.

Anyone that interacts with me 1-on-1 will feel my CLEAR energy along with witnessing my metacognitive synthesis and CLEAR transmission. To further expand the impact of those elements, I have yet another layer to how I operate that is a higher level fractal of my own thinking and energy — world building. I’m able to develop an environment and culture that empowers those that live in my world to (1) find their four (Identity, Actions, & Environment) and (2) build a world that fully expresses it. I’m able to design environments that naturally create desired outcomes as a result of being in them.
